The popularity of St. James’ way has been increasing during last years not only among Christians who are seeking to make pilgrimage to the saint place, but also for those who are searching to discover and get to know better oneself, those who want to discover new places, new experiences and impressions. For example: enjoy great nature, delicious food and just disconnect from the everyday stress…
The firm and original St. James’ way is the one that goes on the north coast of Spain, also called North Way. Green Spain landscapes are full of beautiful mountains overlooking an infinite smooth surface of Atlantic Ocean, the nature’s basic beauty, national parks and reserves, idyllic pictures of rural life, secular cities, and architecture reached us from depth of centuries. We invite you to travel in these mysterious places. We suggest you to come through St. James routes from Madrid to Lisboa.
1st Day. Arrival to Madrid, transfer to hotel. Depending on the time of arrival we can suggest Madrid sight seeing excursión and typical flamenco show dinner.
2nd Day. We live Madrid, our first stop in Peñafiel, famous his medieval castle and one of the best Rebira de Duero wineries – Protos, project of the famous achitect Richard Rogers. We shall visit the castle with its wine museum and the winery to get know about Spanish wines and of course try them!
We shall try typical castilian lamb and other special meals of Castilla Leon and then we follow our trip till Burgos the capital of the región.
Check in one of hotel in the city center and some rest, we shall visit old Spanish Capital where Spanish Catholic Kings received Kristofor Colombo after America’s discovery, we will also visit it gorgeous gothic cathedral Santa Maria one the most beautiful in Spain, included as in world heritage list of Unesco.
3rd Day.
Today we shall discover San Millan de la Cogolla, the place where the Spanish language was born, and will admire the Yuso Monastery (world heritage by Unesco).
Afterwards we’ll stop in the most famous wine región of Spain – La Rioja where we shall visit of the most famous world wineries Marques de Riscal and of corse we shall try its excelent wines!
Fort he lunch we shall to small Basque traditional winery to try best Basque and Rioja cuisine with their best wine marrige.
Arrival to Pamplona, Check in the hotel, rest.
 
4th Day.
In the morning we shall visit Pamplona, the medieval capital of the Navarra Kingdom, where takes place of the most famous fiestas glorified by Hemingway – San Fermin when corrida bulls run after adventures through the city streets!
Than we will go to small French town Saint-Jean Pied de Port, have a lunch a French restraurant and than we will the glamorous San Sebastian. We shall visit this amazing city and know his history and legend of how a small town because Eupone’s most prestigious resort since since XIX till now.

5th Day. Today we shall go on our trip throgh the mysterious Basque Country, we will see several towns of Costa Vasca and finally will arrive to Bilbao.
After some rest we shall try famous Basque txuleton (a very big best quality Basque beef stake) and pintxos and other typical meals.
In the afternoon we’ll enjoy visiting Bilbao, we shall see its old town founded in XIV and the news part of the city with its famous Modern Art Guggenheim Museam.
6th Day. Today will visit a small region called Cantabria, our first stop in Santander – a walk around the city and visit the most beautiful bay of Spain that still conserved summer residence of the king Alfonso XIII – the La Magdalena Palace and visit of the cathedral Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion.
Lunch, we shall go to one of local fish and sea food best restaurant to try typical means.
Further we´ll be surprised by Santillana Del Mar – the authentic medieval town recognized as the most beautiful village of Spain. There is no building, built after the XVIII century, so you will feel it’s real meadieval spirit and we will visit romanic style Colegiata de Santa Julia of XII. Santillana is also famous for it’s caves: Cuevas Altamira which discovered to the world one the most amazing sample of prehistoric arts – the Bisons of Altamira.
Our next stop is in one the hotels of Comillas, Cantabria.
7th Day. In the morning we shall do a small excursion of Comillas, the story of this town reminds the story of Cendirella. In this little place will impressed by great seminary University, the Sobrellano palace and Palace Capricho by Antonio Gaudi. Comillas is known as the main concentration of Catalan Modenism style biuldings out of Catalunia.
Our next stop is Peaks of Europe with tops up to 2800 meters. The road will pass through the dizzy gorge of La Hermida, the picturesque medieval city of Potes, where we have lunch in a traditional cuisine restaurant. Further we will rise in Fuente Dé where on a ropeway we will overcome 800 meters in height and we will see the panorama of the Peaks of Europe.
And finally we shall visit Santo Toribio Monastery which keep the main part of the Lingnum Crisus – the cross where Jesus Crist were crucified, we will have a chance to see the cross close by.
Transfer to Asturias, night in Cangas de Onis.
8th Day. This day we will visit the legendary lakes of Covadonga and the place where Spanish Reconquista began. In accordance with the legend, Virgin Mary blessed and helped Christians army to expel Muslims. After the Asturian Kingdom become as a consequence, the Great Spanish Empire.
Lunch in typical Asturian Sidreria.
In the afternoon we will visit Asturias’ capital Oviedo, and one of the first capitals of Spanish Kingdons. Oviedo’s cathedral keep several Cristian shrines, like the Victory Cross, the Angels’ Cross and the Shroud has been in contact with the Face of Jesus.
Night and rest in Oviedo.
9th Day. So we liave Asturias after a small walk and rest in Luarca fisher’s village and start our trip to Galicia. Our first stop is one of the world’s most beautiful beaches – The Cathedrals, recognized as the 5th best in the world and 2nd in Europe in 2013!!! Its name “Cathedrals” is the best description for the beach and its intricate arches turned by the ocean in rocks for millions years.
Lunch over Ribadeo zone.
Transfer to Lugo, Check in the city hotel. And after some rest we shall visit Lugo famous for its biggest in Europe Roman wall.
Night in Lugo.
10th Day. Arrival to Santiago de Compostela to enjoy the city, its history and architecture, to try the well-known Galician cuisine, especially famous for its sea food!
After arrival we shall visit the city and its cathedral of St. James
Lunch – tasting of typical Galician cheeses and wines in old monastery’s cloister.
Rest of the day free to enjoy the city.
11th Day.
According to medieval tradition pilgrims didn’t finish the way to Santiago, they went to the cape of Finnisterre, which was considered as the end of the world, where they burned their clothes and to start the new life way from zero.
On the way we shall stop to the only water falls which flows into directly into the ocean.
We shall have a nice picnic watching amazing views of Finnesterre and the ocean.
Transfer to Vigo, night in Vigo.
12th Day.
We lieve Vigo and to a walking tour of Porto’s riverfront Ribeira district, including the lavish rooms of its Stock Exchange Palace, the exquisitely-gilded Church of Santa Clara, and São Bento Train Station. Then you’ll have time to wander on your own through Porto’s lively city center — or seek out some more sipping at an old Port lodge.
Lunch in the typical restaurant.
Free time and night in Porto.
13th Day.
Today we arrive to the capital of Portugal, we shall enjoy a walking tour through Lisbon’s colorful downtown neighborhoods — the Bairro Alto, the Alfama, and the Baixa — including a panoramic view of this vibrant city from São Jorge Castle. Along the way we’ll learn about “village” Lisbon’s neighborhood life, the poetry of the revered Fernando Pessoa, and Portugal’s “Carnation Revolution,” which peacefully ended nearly five decades of fascist rule in 1974. You’ll have the rest of your afternoon free to visit any of Lisbon’s “niche” museums (tile, fado, port wine, and other Portuguese specialties). Tonight we’ll regroup and enjoy a soulful fado performance with dinner.
14th Day.
Transfer to the airport: Adios España and Adeus Portugal!
